Few people can change their perceptions and perspectives. The vast majority are unable to change entrenched thinking and past action processes. They are threatened by change and cannot see the opportunities change will bring.
However, we soon enter a severe five-year economic downturn last seen in the 1970s. Only a sharp increase of interest rates to 20% p.a. by the US Federal Reserve in 1980/81, followed by a two-year recession, was able to move the economic growth needle upwards from a very low economic base.
Successful small businesses will be agile, nimble, creative, and able to pivot by accurately predicting the adjustments required for the changes ahead.
